Leaks and water pressure

Leak detection and repairs, plus water-pressure and crossover investigations, in Toronto and the GTA.

Leak detection

Track down where it starts

A water stain on the ceiling, a higher water bill, or pressure that suddenly drops are all signs something is wrong. Daniel’s Plumbing Services finds and repairs leaks and investigates water-pressure and crossover problems in homes, condos, and commercial buildings.

A crossover is when hot and cold water mix where they shouldn’t, usually through a faulty mixing valve or fixture. You might get lukewarm water from the cold tap, or hot water that never gets fully hot. In a condo building, a crossover in one unit can affect others on the same lines.

Daniel tests the pressure, checks valves and fixtures, and narrows down where the problem starts.

Questions about leaks and water pressure

Why is my water pressure low?

Common causes include a partly closed or failing valve, a faulty pressure-reducing valve, clogged aerators or cartridges, or a leak. If it’s only one fixture, the problem is usually at that fixture.

What is a hot and cold crossover?

It’s when hot and cold water mix where they shouldn’t, usually through a faulty mixing valve or fixture. Signs include lukewarm water from the cold tap and hot water that never gets fully hot.

How can I tell if I have a hidden leak?

Watch for stains, damp spots, a musty smell, or a water bill that goes up for no reason. If your water meter moves while nothing in the house is running, water is going somewhere.

Do you do investigations for condo buildings?

Yes. Daniel works with property managers and condo buildings on leaks, pressure problems, and crossovers that affect several units.

Do you take emergency calls?

Yes. Emergency and after-hours calls are available. For anything urgent, call (437) 475-3798 instead of using the form.

Which areas do you cover?

Toronto and the GTA, including Etobicoke, North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville, and Milton.
